Dear One,
The depths of winter are upon us. This stretch of days between Christmas and the New Year is my favorite time of year. These days are a natural time for introspection and reflection, for readying ourselves to look ahead.
As we close out this beast of a year, slow down and give yourself the gift of time. Make yourself a cup of something hot, cozy up with your journal, and answer these questions:
Who are your grateful for?
How have you changed this year?
How do you feel in your body?
What or who leaves you feeling aligned and in balance?
What are you leaving behind in 2020?
What are you making room for in 2021?
Need more structure when looking ahead to 2021?
One of the planning tools I use is from Ink + Volt. Besides their beautifully designed planners, they have a series of (free) downloadable worksheets to help you plan your best year yet. Find them here.
Annual review
Use the worksheets to move through your annual review and focus on your life. What works? What areas need more attention?
Select your word of the year
Rather than making resolutions, choose a word instead. This word will serve as a guide in the year ahead. It’s something you can weave throughout your life, a word that acts as a guiding light.
How do you choose? I reflect. I ask myself what I need. I write down my goals. I write down a list of words that rise to the surface easily. Over a few days I mark some words off, I add more words, I wait for my word to make itself known to me. This year, my word picked me early and as soon as it came to me, I knew it was the right word.
Rest
Rest is good and necessary. It can look like many things: a nap, meditation, restorative yoga, time spent with a good book, slowing down.
On the wellness front
It’s not too late to join us in the Wellness Collective for the upcoming 7-day Functional Medicine Detox beginning in early January 2021!
A super secret heads up (shhhhhhh!!!!!)
My favorite set of Functional Medicine Labs, the Big 5, are going on sale tomorrow, Monday, December 28.
The Big 5 labs are the Omega test (inflammation), Thyroid Adrenal Hormone (tests Vit D, thyroid, estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, cortisol), Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis, Organic Acids Test, and Food Sensitivity. These are my favorite set of labs to run with clients because they give us so much information about what is really going on within the body. The Big 5 labs will be on sale for $999 (savings of $500).
If this is something you’re interested in, this would be a great time to order them. I run my labs every year around my birthday so I plan to order them and hold them until my birthday :)
